Run For A Cure Ghana falls under Run For A Cure Ghana, which is a non-profit fighting breast cancer in Africa.

Here is a short video where Mrs. Ebele Mbanugo, founder of Run For A Cure Africa, speaks about the situation around this project.

The aim of this organisation is “Turning the breast cancer mortality rate in Africa into the survival rate.”  Turn the 80% breast cancer mortality rate into the 80% breast cancer survival rate.  Run for a Cure Africa is a powerful nonprofit organization for the eradication of breast cancer in Africa. They are comprised of individuals directly or indirectly affected by breast cancer who want to lessen the impact of this disease on the less privileged women of our community.  They achieve this aim by:

And it takes a team!!!

The mission is to create a greater awareness of breast cancer throughout Africa through targeted education that erases societal stigmas and by forming strategic alliances. We aim to provide free screenings to the impoverished women of this continent and to alleviate the cost of treatment to these same women.

“Hey!  I’m Su. 2014 has been a bit of a life changing roller coaster for me, however throughout the ongoing hospital visits and bad news I have have faced these challenges with a positive outlook and my sense of humour remains intact.  I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on 21st March 2014. It was a massive shock in the first place but then I learnt how to deal with it. I have been on courses of Chemotherapy from 11th April until 4th September 2014. 8 in total every 3 weeks.”
Meet Miss Susan, a breast cancer survivor I met on Social Media.
She tagged herself under one of my breast cancer posts and asked me to visit her page for a chat.  I did and I fell in love with her approach to her experience.
You can check out her blog here.
